Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Saventra ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Saventra is operated by an independent sole proprietor based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

Saventra is a local-first financial workspace that runs in your browser. The core product:

Encrypts your financial data in transit and at rest (AES-256-GCM) — on your device, and additionally in the cloud if you create an account
Lets you use the app locally without an account, or sign in to back up your encrypted workspace and recover it on any device
Keeps working through short connection drops once loaded; dedicated desktop and mobile apps with full offline support are on our roadmap
Provides educational financial content and decision-support tools — not personalised financial advice

SAVENTRA IS NOT A FINANCIAL ADVISOR, INVESTMENT ADVISOR, TAX ADVISOR, OR LEGAL PROFESSIONAL.

The Service provides:

Budgeting tools — envelope-based allocation and tracking
Educational content — principles from published financial literature (Collins, Ramsey, Housel, Sethi, Stanley)
Calculations — deterministic formulas (F-You Money = expenses × 12 × 25, Expected Net Worth = age × income × 0.10) based on publicly available methodologies
Decision support — structured questions and trade-off analysis; never recommendations

The Service does not:

Recommend specific securities, ETFs, funds, or investment products
Provide personalized asset allocation advice
Make predictions about market performance
Offer tax planning or legal advice
Execute trades or manage investment portfolios

All financial decisions are yours alone. You should consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or legal counsel before making significant financial decisions.

The AI features (companion chat and coaching) are educational tools. To answer questions about your situation, they can read a summary of your workspace (income, budget, debts, runway) — with your data being sent to an AI model provider only when you actively use these features, as described in our Privacy Policy. AI responses explain financial principles; they are not personalised professional advice and are not a substitute for a qualified advisor.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Saventra. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

5. Your Data & Privacy

Your use of Saventra is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Saventra encrypts your data in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256-GCM). If you create an account, your workspace is protected by a unique data key that is itself encrypted ("wrapped") by AWS Key Management Service (KMS); this key is used to decrypt your data only in response to your authenticated requests, and all access is logged. We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

You can export your data at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and cloud data from Settings → Account & Security → Delete Account.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Reverse engineer the client-side encryption to extract other users' data
Use the Service to store or transmit malware, ransomware, or malicious code
Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our explicit written permission

7. Intellectual Property

The Saventra codebase is the intellectual property of the Service operator. The name "Saventra," the brand mark, the UI design, and the proprietary algorithms are protected. You may use the Service as provided; you may not copy, modify, or redistribute the codebase without permission.

8. Payment & Subscriptions

Free tier: The core Saventra workspace is free. Budgeting, envelopes, debts, goals, workbook, calendar, reports, exports, and vault encryption are available without payment.

Pro: Saventra Pro is £8/month or £72/year and adds the full Intelligence suite (AI companion on our managed key, coaching, Smart Buy, payslip tools) and account-based encrypted cloud backup. Payment is processed by Stripe; Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy apply to payment processing. You can cancel, change, or update your subscription at any time via the billing portal in the app.

Prices are in GBP unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers are grandfathered at their current rate for the duration of their subscription.

9. Service Availability

The core workspace runs in your browser and keeps working with locally cached data through short outages. Cloud-dependent features (account backup, managed AI, billing) require our infrastructure and are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee 100% uptime for cloud features.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

Saventra is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
We are not liable for any financial losses, missed payments, investment losses, tax penalties, or other damages arising from your use of the Service.
We are not liable for data loss on your device. We recommend regular exports or an account-based backup.
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Saventra and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account and all cloud data from Settings → Account & Security → Delete Account; data stored locally on your device remains under your control and can be exported or deleted through the app's built-in tools.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to cloud-dependent features for violation of these terms. Termination of cloud features does not affect your locally stored data.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third parties:

Payment processing: Stripe. Stripe's terms apply to payment transactions.
AI models: Google Gemini (managed AI for Pro), or OpenAI / Anthropic / Google if you connect your own API key. When you use AI features, your message and a summary of your workspace are sent to the provider, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Open Banking (future): if launched, bank connections will run via an FCA-authorised AISP and each connection will require your explicit authorisation.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or functionality of third-party services.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

For users in the EU: you may also have rights under your local consumer protection laws, which remain unaffected.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or the saventra.app website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
